Heute bin ich von Lihue ueber Honolulu nach Kapalua, Maui geflogen. Der 2. Flug ist nicht sehr frequentiert (es ist nicht der Hauptflughafen auf Maui), wir waren genau 2 Leute in einer 9sitzigen Cessna und wurden am Gate vom Copiloten persoenlich abgeholt. Kapalua hat genau 1 Landebahn inmitten von Feldern. Immerhin gab es Taxis nach Lahaina. Und hier bin ich nun. Lieder werde ich nicht viel vom Strand profitieren koennen, da ich mir gestern einen tierischen Sonnenbrand zugezogen habe. Ich wollte in Kapa'a am Strand relaxen und habe das wohl ein bischen zu intensiv getan. Ich habe 2 Tage auf Maui, mal sehen, was ich so anstellen werde. Lahaina ist ein quirliges, kleines Staedtchen, genau das richtige fuer Alleinreisende wie mich. Ich kann in weniger als 10 Minuten zu Fuss in die 'Front Street', das 'pulsierende Herz' der Stadt laufen.

I flew from Lihue via Honolulu to Kapalua, Maui today. The connecting flight is not very much frequented (Kapalua is not the island's main airport), in fact we were 2 people in a 9-seat Cessna and we were picked up at the gate by the co-pilot himself. Kapalua has exactly 1 runway which is located amidst farmland. Luckily, they had taxis to lahaina. And that's where I am right now. Very unfortunately I will not be able to enjoy the beaches much because of a really bad sunburn that I have since yesterday. All I had wanted to do was to relax by the beach in Kapa'a yesterday, but I think I overdid it a bit. I will be in Maui for 2 days, don't know exactly yet what I'll be doing. Lahaina is a small, lively town, exactly the right thing for a person travelling alone. I can walk to the city center (Front Street) in less 10 minutes and then I am right in the vibrant heart of the town.

Aujourd'hui j'ai pris le vol de Lihue a Kapalua, Maui via Honolulu. Le deuxieme vol n'est pas assez frequente (Kapalua n'est pas l'aeroport principal de l'ile), on etait exactement 2 personnes dans une Cessna a 9 sieges. C'est le co-pilote lui-meme qui venez nous chercher. Kapalua a exactement 1 piste d'atterrissage qui se trouve au milieu des champs. Au moin, il y a des taxis pour Lahaina. Et me voila ici maintenant. M'ayant brule le dos hier, je ne vais malheureusement pas pouvoir profiter beaucoup des plages ici. Tout ce que je voulais faire hier c'etait de relaxer un peu a la plage, mais il semble je l'ai exagere un peu trop. Je serai a Maui pendant 2 jours, aucune idee encore que exactement je vais faire. Lahaina est une petite ville turbulante. C'est parfait pour quelqu'un toute seule comme moi. Je peux aller a pied au centre remuant de la ville (la 'Front Street') en moins de 10 minutes.
